Ko-Wei Liao's 'Serenity' is a residential project designed to provide a tranquil and natural environment for a young couple and their children in the heart of Taipei City. The 30-year-old house has been transformed into a modern, 3-storey, 313.5sqm2 home, offering a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. The design integrates an open kitchen, dining, and living room to create a space for family bonding, while a second living room caters to the children's private space.

The project, located by the mountainside, leverages the natural surroundings, with larger windows allowing ample natural light and offering stunning views of the garden and the city. The use of teak, known for its durability and natural warmth, adds a cozy touch to the modern design, creating an ideal living environment for everyday family use.

Embracing the natural environment, 'Serenity' minimizes electricity consumption by maximizing natural sunlight, while carefully repositioned windows ensure both lighting and privacy are optimized. The design's warm tones and natural materials, such as wood and marble, connect the interior with the outdoor surroundings, promoting a sense of calmness and serenity.
