OD Studio introduces the Champs Elysees design, a remarkable transformation of the Li Xiang Yuan buffet in a five-star hotel in Kaohsiung. Drawing inspiration from the streetscape of Paris, France, the design aims to redefine the dining experience, infusing it with style, texture, and topicality. The project reflects a fusion of French modern style and open space, creating a durable classic commercial space that resonates with the younger generation.
The standout feature of the design is the unique art installation created in collaboration with artist Yuquan, using bamboo and old paper. This installation, suspended above the restaurant, pays homage to the local cultural characteristics, becoming a new iconic symbol for the restaurant. The use of traditional materials and innovative techniques sets this design apart, adding a touch of artistic and cultural significance to the commercial space.
Utilizing stone, metal, iron furnishings, wood grain brick, and LED lighting, the design spans an area of approximately 1057.856 square meters. The space is thoughtfully divided into different seating categories, catering to various dining preferences and ensuring a friendly traffic flow. The design successfully overcomes challenges related to the large height difference between the floor and ceiling, as well as the planning of indoor seating, to create a comfortable and visually stunning dining space.
OD Studio's Champs Elysees design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, affirming its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements. The design not only revitalizes the restaurant space but also establishes a strong cultural and environmental connection, redefining the bar counter as a prominent landmark. Through this innovative approach, the design achieves sustainability and social influence, effectively reusing idle spaces and fostering connections with culture and business mode.
