Revitalizing Tradition: The Transformation of a Local Restaurant

After almost 35 years, the local restaurant selling squid potage soup has returned with a grand new look, symbolizing its rich history and cherished memories with customers. The exterior design, featuring wooden bars interwoven with steady stones, represents the restaurant's enduring legacy and hospitality. This transformation was completed in March 2021 in Nantou County, Taiwan, and was awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2022.

Upon entering, customers are greeted by a welcoming interior that beautifully echoes the facade. The space, spanning 330 square meters, features a carefully curated design that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. The lighting, wooden furniture, and bamboo ceiling lamps create a cozy yet artisanal atmosphere, paying homage to the restaurant's roots and local surroundings.

One of the unique features of the design is the use of symbolic materials - stone and wood - to represent the restaurant's enduring history. The stone signifies the importance and longevity, while the wood embodies flexibility and hospitality, intertwining to form a narrative of the restaurant's legacy. The interior design beautifully complements the facade, creating a harmonious dining experience for patrons.
