Residential House Design: The Attic

Yang Zi Ying's design for The Attic is a testament to creativity and innovation, utilizing the unique nature of the attic space to enhance transparent vision and create a seamless connection with the natural environment. By incorporating elements of iron, cement, and wood, the design invokes an industrial atmosphere reminiscent of New York lofts, while maintaining a balance with natural daylighting and pure white tones. The result is a fresh and extremely simple living taste that sets The Attic apart from traditional residential houses.

The structure design of The Attic reflects a 30% design and 70% life concept, emphasizing the importance of open space and natural light. The absence of walls allows light to permeate the living area, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The integration of plain cement colors and architectural concrete paint complements the overall low-key living feeling, while also accommodating the owner's love for pottery art, resulting in an elegant and emotionally appealing living space.

Completed in February 2019, The Attic project in Taipei, Taiwan, redefines the traditional attic space, offering a fresh and extremely simple living taste. The open design of the living room, dining room, and kitchen promotes family interaction, making it a suitable space for enhancing parent-child relationships. The flexible TV mount allows for easy viewing from different areas, catering to the leisure and entertainment needs of the family.
