Linda Martins Unveils Fly, a Modular System Designed to Adapt Homes to Changing Lifestyles During the Pandemic
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Linda Martins introduces Fly, a modular system born out of the need to adapt home environments to the changing demands of the pandemic. The minimalist design, featuring butterfly-shaped screws, symbolizes freedom and encourages imaginative exploration of living spaces.
Fly is a hybrid system designed to transform homes, comprising two structures of varying heights, drilled channels, bars, shelves, and butterfly screws that allow for versatile layout configurations. Made of brass, steel, and reused pressed wood, Fly offers adaptability from office to bedroom, including the kitchen.
Simple to assemble and disassemble, Fly empowers users to customize their living spaces without professional assistance. The project, initiated in July 2020 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, was completed in August 2021. The design was driven by research into technology and creative solutions for hybrid furniture, emphasizing the need for homes to adapt to residents' evolving needs.
