Riki Watanabe's Chibanewtown Ladies project, completed in November 2018 in Chiba, Japan, aims to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for pregnant women and children visiting the hospital.

Riki Watanabe's Chibanewtown Ladies project focuses on creating a comforting environment for pregnant women and children visiting the hospital. The space features a nursing room and a unique island kitchen counter in the waiting area for making baby milk, promoting a relaxed atmosphere. The central kids' area allows for easy supervision, and the lighting design enhances the overall ambiance with soft, indirect lighting. The use of synthetic leather ensures easy maintenance, and the space also functions as an interactive area for visitors.
The 198.40 square meter space was meticulously designed to ensure the comfort of both visitors and staff. The project, which began in October 2017, was completed in November 2018 in Chiba, Japan. Riki Watanabe's inspiration for the design stemmed from a desire to ease the anxiety of visitors and create a happy, comfortable environment.
Riki Watanabe's Chibanewtown Ladies project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
