Discover the minimalist and calming space designed to provide a nature-connected escape during the Covid-19 pandemic in ZheJiang
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Heng Zhou's SeeAnn Retreat, completed during the Covid-19 pandemic, offers a nature-connected way of living to cure and cleanse amidst the chaos. This unique space, designed with natural materials and an interplay of light, provides a vacation haven for relaxation and contemplation.
As a minimalist and calming space, SeeAnn aims to satisfy commercial functionality while offering a cozy environment. The project effectively controls costs and spatial relationships, creating a comfortable and efficient building.
The retreat features white cement walls, light wood grain, rattan, and custom-made furniture, providing a balance between visual appeal and cost. Different themed rooms, such as the spring room, the tea room, and the family room, offer diverse experiences within the retreat.
Spanning 600 square meters, SeeAnn Retreat overcame challenges such as hiding pillars and cost limitations, resulting in a space that facilitates diverse human activities while maintaining an intimate balance between humans and nature.
Get off the internet and take a vacation at SeeAnn Retreat, a project that started in April 2019 and was completed in May 2020 in ZheJiang, China. The design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its practical and innovative approach.
