FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Zong-Ying Chen's Lines Geometry

Zong-Ying Chen's Lines Geometry project is a residential design that offers a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The designer used eco-friendly plaster on the ceiling and walls to create a minimalistic space with a tranquil atmosphere that calms the mind. The axis of the corridor divides the field invisibly, and the contrasting color tones form different attributes of gray and white, creating a unique visual experience.

The plaster is hand-painted on the ceiling and walls, creating a sense of texture in an orderly manner, which contributes to the calm and quiet space. Straight lines, curved lines, single lines, arrays, geometric lengths, square correspondences, and staggering are used to create layers and uniqueness in the design.

The TV cabinet and the black iron chased display shelve are designed with suspension and volume contrast. The dolomite brick texture resembles clouds, creating visual continuity. The combination of bookcases in red, yellow, and blue with a black iron shelve resembles a large painting by Piet Mondrian, offering both display and practical functions.

The storage room, inspired by the box, serves as a powerful storage function and a display wall for the entrance. The whole space is integrated, with the dining table and desk composed of lines and geometry.

The black shelf below the TV cabinet not only stores books and accessories but also extends to the doorway as a shoe chair, designed from both aesthetic and practical perspectives. The shoe cabinet, TV cabinet, black iron shelve, bookshelf, and bedroom can be regarded as boxes of different sizes distributed in public areas.

The project was completed in August 2021 in Taiwan, with simplicity and lines outlining the visual sense of the field, and colors embellishing the interest of life. The designer overcame the challenge of combining white as the base color with other contrasting colors to create a beautiful and harmonious style.

Natural materials such as warm wood, gray and black, and white stone tiles were used in the project, creating a sense of lightness and well-lit space during the day, with soft lighting at night. The dining room lighting fixture becomes a highlight against the white walls.
