Wen Hsueh Wu's residential project, "Interpretation of Dream," seamlessly blends Western stylish accents with Zen art, creating a unique fusion of cultures in a new apartment in Taiwan.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wen Hsueh Wu's "Interpretation of Dream" project draws inspiration from a piece of Hermes fabric designed by Nigel Peake, resulting in a fusion of Western stylish accents and Zen art. The design features traditional elements, including furniture and accessories that complement fabrics, sculptural lights, modern artwork, and objects. The project's unique properties are exemplified by the use of materials such as heavy slate, artificial stone, and decorative silk with reflective metallic yarn, creating a modern yet culturally rich ambiance.
The construction of the project involved meticulous attention to detail, with plywood, layers of paint, and decorative materials carefully selected to realize the designer's vision. The residence spans approximately 165ã¡, with each area configured in a squared or rectangular layout to maximize space utilization and adhere to fengshui principles.
Despite facing challenges due to taking over an ongoing project from a previous designer, the "Interpretation of Dream" project was successfully completed in six months. The design team overcame obstacles related to cost, trust-building, and integrating existing work to meet the client's budget and expectations.
