ERC Cafe Design by Yang, Ya Wun & Huang, Yun Fang

Homker Design is proud to unveil the ERC Cafe, a distinctive commercial space located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The cafe, completed in February 2019, is a unique blend of classic elements such as red bricks, metal work, and cement finished surfaces, along with an outstanding design feature of fabric, creating a loft-style ambiance.

The 218 square meter space features a front entrance, counter, kitchen, and various seating areas, including a sofa area, bar stool area, community table, and normal coffee table area. The design is anchored on the theme of infusion into the building while accentuating the serenity of the cafe, with an overall open plan greenhouse-like layout.

The ERC Cafe's design is characterized by its unique use of fabric, metal work, vintage red tiles, grinding stone, glass, timber, and mineral paint. The space offers a wide range of consumer segments, warranting a free-flowing and soft texture fabric to soften up the rustic and hard spatiality with a feminine touch.

Yang, Ya Wun & Huang, Yun Fang, the talented designers behind the ERC Cafe, have created a space that offers enriched visual experiences, with an emphasis on light and shadow, flowing spatial layout, and a greenhouse-inspired design. The cafe's double ceiling height area at the building entrance increases the vertical spatial connection, while the kitchen's strategic placement enhances functional and flowing working circulation.

Homker Design's ERC Cafe design was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creation that reflects the designers' prodigy and wisdom. The cafe's unique styling and innovative approach have significantly impacted the world of interior design and retail spaces.
