Seuk Hoon Kim Designs a Sophisticated White Workshop for Premium Bread
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Seuk Hoon Kim, a renowned designer, has unveiled the fifth flagship store of Whitelier, a high-end boutique bakery, in Misa District of Gyeonggido, South Korea. The project aimed to create a bakery space that embodies the brand identity of Whitelier, representing a white workshop for baking premium bread. The design features a sophisticated curvature facade and articulated bread display shelves to emphasize the concept.
The white facade, prefabricated with metal works and powder-coated, represents the artisanship of the bakery, resembling the softness of the white bread. The interior showcases a seamless blend of modern and minimalistic elements, with a three-meter wall separating the sales hall and the fully equipped baking kitchen. The project, which commenced in July 2021, was completed in September 2021.
Seuk Hoon Kim, the mastermind behind this design, utilized 3D computational programs to model the intricate curvature facade and the wood structure display shelves. The project presented challenges in efficiently utilizing the limited 54 square-meter space for both production and customer display. However, the result is a visually striking and functional space that fulfills the brand's vision.
