Mimark Mimarlık is proud to announce that their Equine Design IIEC has been honored with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category for 2021. The innovative and sustainable approach to equestrian architecture has garnered recognition for its outstanding expertise and innovation.

The Equine Design IIEC is a unique architectural project that reflects the deep understanding of horses' behavior and requirements. The architect, Kutsal Alkan, a licensed rider and architect, drew inspiration from firsthand experiences to create a space that enhances the quality and beauty of horses' lives.

The design is characterized by its compact, simple, and modern features, focusing on the well-being of both horses and riders. The structure, settled on a 30,000 square meter area in Beykoz, Istanbul, Turkey, includes stables, an indoor arena, and an outdoor arena, all designed to international standards of equestrian sports.

Utilizing steel structural elements, mechanical stone cladding, wooden ceilings, and metal roofing, the design integrates natural materials to harmonize with the surrounding environment. The incorporation of sand and watering technology, along with operable glass roofs, ensures natural ventilation and lighting, contributing to a sustainable and energy-efficient building.

Despite the challenges posed by limited space and elevation differences, the Equine Design IIEC successfully meets international race requirements and prioritizes the health and well-being of horses. The facility, designed for private use, adheres to international FEI standards, reflecting a modern and compact approach that emphasizes the importance of horses' health and their connection to nature.
