Renowned architect David Guerra introduces Kuara, a contemporary hotel nestled in the heart of Bahia, Brazil, blending modern luxury with the richness of the surrounding rainforest.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
David Guerra's latest project, Kuara, is a testament to the fusion of modern luxury and vernacular architecture, set amidst the preserved rainforest area of Bahia. The design draws inspiration from the indigenous roots of Brazil, delivering a narrative that celebrates the country's ethnic pluralism and unique diversity.
The architecture of Kuara establishes a solid symbiosis with the natural reserve, offering a sophisticated retreat for leisure and relaxation. The project showcases a blend of architectural and interior details that pay homage to the Brazilian bossa, creating a unique and captivating ambiance.
The use of diverse materials, including natural wood and Brazilian stones, combined with imported Italian flooring, reflects a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to preserving the natural environment.
The complexity of the project demanded the creation of an on-site workshop to optimize the use of materials, including bamboo, natural fibers, straw, wicker, and leather, further enhancing the connection to the surrounding landscape.
Privacy, intimacy, and silence were prioritized in the design, offering guests an immersive experience in nature, with breathtaking views of the coastline and the sounds of the waves and local wildlife.
Kuara's construction began in Arraial DAjuda, Brazil, in 2010, and was completed on-site in 2017, with the hotel officially opening its doors at the end of the same year.
The project's design was deeply rooted in extensive research of the local ecosystem, ensuring the preservation of the native vegetation and the unique biome of the region. The landscape architecture was carefully planned to harmonize with the natural surroundings, creating a seamless integration between the hotel and its environment.
Kuara represents a modern concept of Brazilian architecture, offering a private sanctuary that celebrates the country's rich natural heritage and invites guests to embrace a healthy relationship with the environment.
