FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chih-Yuan Chen's "Sophisticated In Style" project redefines residential space design with a focus on warmth, lighting, and movement. The 495 square meter space in Taichung, Taiwan, is set to finish in August 2021 and draws inspiration from local Fengshui and culture. The design integrates movement, warmth, and lighting to create a modern and functional living environment.
The project's unique features include a shared reading area with a starry sky pattern on the ceiling, designed to emit a slight starlight at night. The third-floor boys' room uses staggered slopes and indirect lighting to blur the limits of the beams, creating a spacious and open feel. The second floor features a master bedroom with a retractable lift table and a study room that can be transformed into a space for yoga and exercise.
Chih-Yuan Chen's design team focused on maximizing functionality by arranging the space according to the client's daily routine and choosing suitable home appliances. The use of decorative artwork and round, reflective materials adds to the uniqueness of the design. The project also incorporates local materials and techniques, creating a perfect combination of local style and foreign influences.
