Ren Xiaoyu's Yuyuyu restaurant, a 3,700 square feet Chinese restaurant in Shenzhen, redefines the traditional Chinese dining experience with its innovative design, abandoning traditional symbolic elements and using lines and points to express the oriental mood, creating a feeling of "peaceful comfort" that could not be experienced in the past.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ren Xiaoyu's Yuyuyu restaurant in Shenzhen is a groundbreaking project that redefines the traditional Chinese dining experience. The restaurant's design sets a simple Chinese decoration on the wall of the dining area, combining vertical lines with the outline of the mountain, expressing simple and restrained Chinese aesthetics. The end of the dining area features a screen depicting a fish passing through lotuses, constituting the center of vision.
This innovative approach to Chinese restaurant design is intended to express the oriental mood and create a feeling of "peaceful comfort" that was previously unattainable in traditional Chinese restaurants. The space is made of materials including ferrous metal, wood, and grey stone, in line with the restaurant's steady, restrained temperament.
The array installation composed of lines and dots blurs the internal and external boundaries, increasing the visibility of the line of sight from the door to the partition inside the dining room and the ceiling in the dining area. This design approach challenges the traditional symbolic elements, offering a new way to express Oriental design.
