Architect Nolan Chao's Quad Bar Project in Beijing Wins Silver A' Design Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ARCHISTRY design&research office proudly announces the recognition of Nolan Chao's Quad Bar project with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building, and Structure Design. The project, located in the heart of Beijing, beautifully harmonizes modern functionality with the historical significance of the ancient quadrangle area.
Chao's inspiration for Quad stemmed from the architectural space and the concept of centrality and privacy. The project, initiated in April 2018 and completed in November 2018, faced the challenge of balancing the bar's style with the privacy needs of the historical neighborhood.
The Quad project, realized using wood for decoration and concrete for the facade, stands as a testament to Chao's innovative approach, successfully blending the traditional with the contemporary. The design, with its unique blend of old and new, low-key comfort, and high-end market appeal, sets a new standard in the complex cultural landscape of Beijing.
ARCHISTRY design&research office, under Nolan Chao's leadership, continues to push the boundaries of design and research, bringing forth new experiences, environments, and opportunities that inspire and enrich the global design community.
