Architect Tarek Ibrahim's Villa Extension Project in AinBal El Shouf, Lebanon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Architect Tarek Ibrahim has completed the stunning "Identity Villa," a modern extension to an old Mount Lebanon house, blending new materials with the timeless character of the original structure. The project, initiated in 2015 and completed in April 2018, is a testament to the architect's vision and sensitivity to historical context.
The extension, spanning 140sqm, respects the old house's spirit and circulation while incorporating modern elements such as cantilevered stairs and void spaces. The use of stone and wood, treated and cladded in a contemporary manner, adds a new layer to the existing structure, creating a seamless yet distinct identity.
Challenges such as plot size and municipal regulations were overcome to realize this bold design, which has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. The project not only preserves the heritage of the old house but also offers a new perspective on modern extensions, reflecting Architect Tarek Ibrahim's commitment to storytelling through architecture.
