Wei Zhangï¼Wynne Z.ï¼'s "Crystal Opera House" is a 1,600-square-meter giant hanging crystal art installation, meticulously designed to resemble the classical horseshoe-shaped enclosure of a traditional opera house. The structure, suspended from a steel frame TRUSS, features millions of K9 crystal particles arranged in layers to create a mesmerizing visual experience.
The installation, standing nearly 4000mm tall and spanning 36000mm in length and 20000mm in width, showcases crystal bars ranging from 1500mm to 3500mm, with approximately 100,000 crystal bars in total. The intricate design and placement of these crystal particles form the illusion of "Opera House boxes," evoking the ambiance of a traditional opera setting.
Featuring a special interactive design, the Crystal Opera House incorporates three crystal gates at the entrance, symbolizing the opening of the opera's curtain. The installation also utilizes point lighting to illuminate the crystals in a rhythmic pattern, creating a captivating visual spectacle.
Despite numerous technical and creative challenges, Wei Zhangï¼Wynne Z.ï¼'s dedication and innovation resulted in the successful realization of this extraordinary art piece. The Crystal Opera House was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Event and Happening Design category in 2022, recognizing its exceptional contribution to art and design.
