A Fusion of Architecture and Green: Yoshiaki Tanaka's Innovative House Design
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Yoshiaki Tanaka has unveiled the Vertical Horizontal Green House, a groundbreaking architectural marvel that seamlessly integrates nature with modern living. Located in Yatomigaoka, Mizuho, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, this innovative house sets a new standard for sustainable and harmonious urban living.
Aiming to create a fusion of architecture and greenery, the Vertical Horizontal Green House boasts unique features that set it apart from traditional designs. The living room seamlessly integrates with the south roof garden and the north garden, providing residents with a cozy space to immerse themselves in nature. Additionally, the balcony on the second floor features a greening planter hanging randomly on the sleeve wall, offering both a connection to nature and enhanced privacy.
The house's support structure includes a steel frame above ground and reinforced concrete construction underground, along with 18 steel plaster planters equipped with automatic irrigation facilities. The underground parking lot utilizes the site's height difference, featuring a rooftop garden that further enhances the green space.
With a site dimension of 400 sqm, a plot ratio of 29%, and a total floor space of 280 sqm, the Vertical Horizontal Green House embodies a thoughtful approach to sustainable architecture. The design's interaction with its surroundings creates a favorable environment for residential areas, offering a comfortable and visually stunning living space.
Yoshiaki Tanaka's Vertical Horizontal Green House received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2019, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence. This innovative design not only sets a new standard for urban living but also introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder to its residents.
