FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Social Fun, a residential house design project by Ching Jiun Yu, is a revolutionary take on social interaction and dining functionality. The project, completed in Taipei, Taiwan from Jan. 2018 to Aug. 2018, aims to redefine the concept of social interaction through innovative space design and dining functionality.
The design concept revolves around the idea that social interaction starts with dining, closely intertwining with life. By integrating space design, dining function, and the meaning of social interaction, the project creates multiple layers that define different dimensions of life. The first floor features an American bar, creating a lively space for social interaction, while the second floor focuses on modern eating habits, with the kitchen as the core of social interaction for a small family.
Ching Jiun Yu's design approach addresses the structural challenges of fragmental corners and fractional windows, utilizing frame views between pillars and carefully planned light paths to achieve optimal flow and lighting. The staircase connects the first-floor bar and the second-floor home kitchen, seamlessly integrating different functional areas without over-focusing on limited space.
Technical specifications include the integration of wooden shutters to maintain lighting flow and privacy, as well as the use of linear iron parts to facilitate light flow without obstruction. The project also blurs the boundary between cooking and dining, creating a seamless transition between the two functions.
Ching Jiun Yu's design philosophy emphasizes the creation of social interaction scenes with interactive and flowing feelings, utilizing the circulation of the vertical staircase to connect people and space, spreading out various perspectives in life.
Ching Jiun Yu, the design director of Fengyue Design, brings extensive experience and a refined approach to space planning, construction, and creating comfortable home spaces.
