Yu-Cheng Chen unveils the mesmerizing restaurant design "Dark Gold" in Tainan, Taiwan, completed in October 2020, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yu-Cheng Chen's "Dark Gold" restaurant design is a captivating departure from minimalist trends, embracing the wild allure of gold to create an unforgettable dining experience. Inspired by the refined minerals shaped by nature's high temperatures, the design exudes an asymmetric harmony that captivates visitors.
The 86 square meter space features decorated walls with varying sizes and heights, adorned with dark curtains, grey slabs with burning veins, gold sticks, and black mirrors, creating an ambiance that transcends conventional spatial limitations, evoking a sense of the boundless starry sky.
The centerpiece of "Dark Gold" is the pentagon lighting bars, radiating irregular gold beams that illuminate the dining-kitchen table, where guests and chefs converge. The unconventional arrangement of two large round tables fosters seamless interaction, akin to planets orbiting the sun, enhancing the dining experience.
Photographer Ken Jang beautifully captures the essence of "Dark Gold," showcasing its mesmerizing elements that redefine the traditional restaurant design paradigm.
