ERIC LIU's innovative Transformable Home offers a warm, flexible, and adaptable living space for a young family of four in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, completed in December 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Transformable Home by ERIC LIU is a groundbreaking residential design that addresses the changing spatial needs of growing families. Situated in a 781 square feet apartment in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, this innovative space offers a flexible and transformable environment that evolves with the family's requirements.
Utilizing sliding doors as the primary technology, the design allows for seamless transformation of the living space. When the sliding partitions are opened, the area becomes a shared playground for the children. As they grow, the siblings can enjoy private moments in their own separate spaces, achieved by simply closing the sliding doors, creating individual bedrooms with desks and wardrobes.
Despite the challenges posed by the structural walls and columns of the high-rise building, ERIC LIU's team successfully maximized the spatial effects within the apartment, creating a warm and adaptable home that meets the family's evolving needs.
