Suping Zhuo's Wangchun church design, located in Ningbo, China, is a serene and sacred space that captures the essence of tranquility and purity. The design, realized using wood veneer, wood silk board, latex paint, stainless steel, and stone, spans an area of 620 square meters.
The project, which commenced on August 28, 2017, was completed on November 5, 2018, and officially finished on December 10, 2019, at No. 687, Xijiao Road, Haishu District, Ningbo. The design process involved meticulous research to express the sacred feeling of the church and find the right architectural language that resonates with the spiritual essence of the space.
Suping Zhuo's design approach focused on simplicity, using natural light and essential materials to convey the spirit of the church. The project's symmetrical structure and play with light create a solemn and peaceful ambiance, providing a place for the soul to find solace and hope.
