Erika Zielinski presents Elemental Lounge, a striking living room and bar design created for Casacor Peru, inspired by the harmony of opposites and the equinox.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Erika Zielinski's Elemental Lounge is a captivating living room and bar design that deftly balances the most radical contrast in the color palette - black and white. The project was created for Casacor Peru, the renowned architecture and interior design exhibition of the Americas, under the theme "Planeta Casa," symbolizing our planet as our home.
The 60-square-meter space was transformed into a visually stunning representation of day and night during the equinox, where day and night are precisely 12 hours long. Zielinski's design achieves harmony through the skillful use of different textures and materials, embodying consonance and peace between opposites.
Every piece of furniture, lamps, rugs, and fittings in the Elemental Lounge were custom-made by Peruvian artisans and manufacturers, showcasing a touch of natural glamour using black and white, wood, iron, fabrics, pottery, fur, and precious stones. The space is a testament to Zielinski's dedication to creating memorable, harmonious, and cozy environments.
Traveling from Saint Petersburg to Helsinki, Zielinski drew inspiration from the cultural contrasts between the two cities, where the Nordic style favors light and white interiors, while Russian modern design leans towards drama with black compositions. The Elemental Lounge beautifully captures this duality, offering a versatile space suitable for residential environments or as the lounge of a luxury hotel.
The project commenced in July 2019 and concluded in September 2019 in Lima, Peru, showcasing Zielinski's ability to overcome the creative and technical challenges of designing and constructing a space within a tight timeframe for the Casacor event.
