Jinqiao Ouyang unveils "Simplism Exploration," a transformative villa design project completed in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, in October 2022.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jinqiao Ouyang's "Simplism Exploration" breathes new life into a 20-year-old villa, showcasing the beauty of simplicity and internalism. The project, which commenced in June 2021, reimagines the 5-floor villa, seamlessly blending classical and pioneer decorations with a focus on pure living spaces and satisfying daily life needs.
The design process involved remodeling internal structures, sealing internal patios, and increasing floor areas. By retaining the original civil construction columns and incorporating concrete and varnish, Ouyang pays homage to childhood memories and the essence of the object.
The villa boasts an outdoor garden of 100 square meters and an interior space of 400 square meters, offering a serene and spacious living environment.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ouyang and his team overcame obstacles to complete the project within 16 months. The redesign of the staircase, production of spiral stairs, and meticulous interior decoration required innovative solutions and dedication, resulting in a harmonious, aesthetic, and intrinsic design language.
Recognized for its practicality and innovation, "Simplism Exploration" was honored with the Iron A' Design Award in 2024, celebrating its integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
