Interior Design Project Transforms Common Areas into Natural Oasis

Giuliano Marchiorato's Zen Building project in Curitiba, Brazil, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award 2024. The interior design project, located on the edge of the city's famous park, reimagines the common areas of a building, infusing over 1000 square meters with Brazilian architecture inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian features. Natural materials, local design cues, and an abundance of natural light define this tranquil oasis.

The Zen Building interiors were meticulously crafted to create a serene and engaging atmosphere, drawing inspiration from inviting textures and natural materials such as travertine marble, Tauari wood, and carved rough stone. The project concept was deeply influenced by the surrounding natural beauty, aiming to provide a refuge where body, mind, and soul find their fullness again.

Utilizing organic and minimalist aesthetics, the project seamlessly integrates natural light through the weaves of the Tauari wood muxarabi, creating spaces characterized by light tones and pure materials. The interior project covers an area of 1050m2, with spaces including the main entrance, hall, gym, kids' area, spa, pool, lounge bar, and lounge, all designed to evoke a sense of belonging and comfort.

Marchiorato's vision for the Zen Building was to design a natural oasis in the heart of a bustling city, drawing on his immersion in Japanese and Scandinavian cultures to translate their concepts into the local Brazilian daily life. The project, which commenced in April 2023 and concluded in January 2024, stands as a testament to the architect's exceptional expertise and innovation, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
