Hideaway Cafe, a Japanese-style restaurant located in New Taipei City, seamlessly blends Eastern and Western design elements to create a harmonious and inviting space for office workers and families. The project, led by designer Pang Yu Kuo, reimagines the Meiji Restoration style of Japan, incorporating traditional elements such as glass wall lamps, ceramic tiles, and pine woods to create an atmosphere that soothes homesickness and provides a relaxing escape for urban dwellers.
The restaurant, managed by a Japanese national living in Taiwan, aims to recreate the Meiji Restoration style of Japan, incorporating elements such as glass wall lamps, ceramic tiles, and pine woods. The design also features Japanese Sake and wood trees to evoke the tradition of drinking under the tree, providing a comforting space for those far from home.
The space, which started its renovation in August 2018 and was completed in February 2019, presents a unique challenge of blending cultural implications to create a space that offers a "third space" for urban dwellers to relax and connect with others.
