Shu Na Hung's "Culture and Elegance" project is a testament to the seamless integration of simplicity and sophistication. The residential space, spanning 200 square meters, features pale-colored marble and natural materials, creating a visually stunning living environment. The design, completed in 2018 in Taichung, Taiwan, has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2021.
The unique design of "Culture and Elegance" is characterized by the use of natural materials such as natural log and stone, emphasizing human-oriented demands and visual comfort. The open-style layout and partition-free design allow abundant natural light to permeate the space, reducing the need for artificial lighting and energy consumption. The project also incorporates solid wood shutter blades with adjustable angles to regulate sun exposure, enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.
Shu Na Hung's meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout the project, with unique tiny details adding sparks of individuality to the simple style favored by the homeowner. The design challenges were overcome by carefully considering the needs of the family members, resulting in a harmonious and functional living space that seamlessly connects different areas of the residence.
