FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stone & Forest Architects presents Resee, a studio of a sculptor located in a high-tech zone, serving as a workspace, reception, and display space. The project features an oriental landscape interior in modern architecture, inspired by the traditional gardening techniques of borrowing from surrounding space and time.
The design is influenced by the book "Art of Garden-Building," an ancient Chinese monograph on gardening from the late Ming Dynasty, emphasizing the fusion of human-made creations with natural formations.
Resee stands out with its use of old wooden boards, paint, and gravel, integrating oriental landscape elements into a modern architectural setting. The project's realization technology includes the innovative use of recycled materials and rough putty surfaces to control costs while achieving a unique aesthetic.
The design team overcame challenges related to limited ceiling height and budget constraints, demonstrating their ability to create a three-dimensional sense of space within existing parameters. By incorporating indoor plants and architectural techniques, Resee contributes to energy efficiency and reduces the need for air conditioning.
Stone & Forest Architects' Resee project was completed in Fuzhou, China, in June 2020, following an extensive design process that involved reimagining traditional concepts in a contemporary context. The studio's fusion of ancient gardening principles with modern design sensibilities has earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021.
