Ice Cave is a distinctive showroom designed by Fatemeh Salehi Amiri to presell commercial units of the Tehran Eye complex, transforming into an event hall later. The space boasts exclusive features and a minimal surface logic, realized through digital fabrication and computational design.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Ice Cave, located in Tehran, Iran, was designed to showcase the Tehran Eye Project's various properties. It features a free-form shell with minimal surfaces, using 329 double-curve composite panels for fabrication. The space, covering 290m2 of ceiling and 200m2 of floor, provides an attractive yet neutral atmosphere for displaying the project's predicted function.
The design emphasizes the roof and columns, creating a unique ambiance with the use of two skylights for natural light. The space serves as a showroom for potential buyers, offering a personalized overview of the project and a comfortable area for sales presentations.
The project, completed in June 2018, was a collaboration between Fatemeh Salehi Amiri, Omid Amini, Mehrad Mahnia, and Sizan Company. It was recognized with the Golden A' Design Award in 2021 for its exceptional and trendsetting design.
