Award-winning architect Larissa Garbers unveils Bosque, a sustainable residential building in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, completed in May 2022.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Larissa Garbers introduces Bosque, a sustainable residential building in Curitiba, Brazil. The design integrates green technologies, renewable energy sources, and passive design elements to create a functional and eco-friendly living space. The open-plan layout, large windows, and seamless indoor/outdoor transitions promote interaction and a sense of togetherness, while the integration of natural materials and clever storage solutions maintains a minimalist aesthetic.
The construction technique, utilizing pre-cast concrete slabs and lightweight polystyrene blocks, enables wide spaces without structural interference, while a water collection system and solar panels contribute to sustainability. The house prioritizes user needs, with four floors featuring living areas, suites, and an office with a rooftop jacuzzi. Bosque was designed to maximize sunlight in a city known for cloudy weather, using revit simulations to inform the design and improve performance.
Larissa Garbers' commitment to sustainability, functionality, and cultural significance is evident in Bosque, earning the project a Bronze A' Design Award in 2024 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
