Shih Ming Kan's Light Bathed project, a serene residential house leveraging abundant daylight, was completed in April 2022 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, and awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2024.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
To leverage abundant daylight in this sun-filled abode, the living room is strategically placed at the sunny side, allowing natural light to flow uninterrupted into the connected living room, dining room, piano room, and Buddhist altar. The open layout creates a nicely blended balance of strength and softness, with spaces separated by the roof ridge, bookcase wall, and sliding glass door.
To create a serene atmosphere, natural wood elements are incorporated into modern style interior design with a humanistic approach. The marble reveals the vista view and the main view in the space, exuding a luxurious yet low-key elegance in a mellow and amicable ambience. The design features titanium plated metal, thin porcelain tile, Japanese wallcovering, marble, and wooden floor, covering an area of 232 square meters with an entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, Buddhist altar, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms.
The project, completed in April 2022 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, was awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
