Experience the magic of theatre at the permanent exhibition "On Stage" at Cyprus Theatre Museum, designed by Skevi Farazi, exploring the narrative space and the evolution of theatrical plot through history, contributors, and performance.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Step into the immersive world of "On Stage," the permanent exhibition at Cyprus Theatre Museum, designed by Skevi Farazi, which delves into the captivating realm of theatre. The exhibition, realized between 2010-2012 in Limassol, Cyprus, invites visitors to embark on a journey through the history, contributors, and the final act of performance, intertwining the boundaries of spectating and acting.
The design of "On Stage" draws inspiration from the enchanting experience of theatrical performances, aiming to create a narrative space that unfolds gradually, akin to a theatrical plot evolving through different acts. The exhibition is divided into three distinct parts: The History, which acts as a filter of knowledge; The Contributors, showcasing the often unseen aspects of production; and The Performance, culminating in the revelation of the final outcome.
Utilizing innovative design techniques, "On Stage" features a central diagonal showcase that guides visitors through the space, creating a flow of pauses and transitions between the sections. The entrance to the museum incorporates mirrors, dissolving barriers between spectators, graphics, and displays, offering a unique play of knowledge and reflection.
Overcoming various creative and technical challenges, the design of "On Stage" harmoniously integrates with the existing space, respecting its materials while highlighting the exhibition items. The exhibition's unique approach intertwines museological research with the selection of display systems, materials, and color palettes, resulting in a balanced and immersive design.
Skevi Farazi, the visionary designer behind "On Stage," has been recognized for her outstanding work, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 for Best Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. Her dedication to pushing the boundaries of architecture and design has led to the creation of captivating and experiential spaces that enrich the cultural landscape.
