MARINA KHALIL's Amar Beirut project blends the ambiance of a museum with traditional Lebanese culture to create a unique dining experience in Warsaw, Poland, completed in June 2023.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARINA KHALIL's Amar Beirut project at Norblin Factory in Warsaw, Poland, is a distinctive fusion of museum ambiance and Lebanese cuisine. The 550 sqm space, once a neglected pearl of post-industrial architecture, has been transformed into a new part of the city, featuring a unique dining experience inside the factory museum.
The design draws inspiration from the rich heritage of Lebanese cuisine, incorporating elements such as decorative ceilings, walls adorned with traditional jugs, suspended cutlery decorations, and live music scenes. The main production part of the factory, once dedicated to cutlery, has been repurposed into this unique restaurant, seamlessly blending the industrial past with modern spaces.
The meticulous crafting of the design involved a combination of materials and technologies, including ceramic tiles for durability and aesthetic appeal, pixel light new technology for dynamic lighting effects, wooden stripes for warmth and texture, and custom-made furniture designed to seamlessly blend with the overall concept. Advanced production methods and 3D modeling were employed to ensure precision and cohesion in the final design.
The project, which started in July 2022, was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in 2024 for its outstanding and trendsetting creation that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom. The project's unique blend of art, culture, and cuisine creates a memorable atmosphere, enriching the cultural experience for visitors.
