SHEERIN Pavilion for Guangzhou Design Week 2023

The SHEERIN Pavilion for 2023 Guangzhou Design Week is a captivating showcase of sintered stone, employing artificial stone to simulate a natural rock canyon, creating a captivating and playful environment. The design emphasizes recyclability and sustainable construction, addressing the environmental impact of large-scale exhibitions.

Through structural calculations and the use of PK.PM software, the stability and mechanical integrity of the inverted pyramid structure were ensured, promoting cost efficiency, recyclability, and a sustainable design approach. The pavilion covers an area of 192 square meters and was completed in December 2023, offering a quiet and sacred space for reflection amidst the visually spectacular events of the design week.

The SHEERIN Pavilion was awarded the Platinum A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its exceptional and highly innovative design that contributes to societal wellbeing and advances the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.

The SHEERIN Pavilion for 2023 Guangzhou Design Week provides an exhibition space for sintered stones. Artificial stones are employed to simulate the natural ones, aiming to present a spatial ambiance of a mined artificial stone canyon. This simulation and representation create a captivating juxtaposition. The systematic design of space, scene, and structure not only presents the unity of form and force, and the connection between behavior and space, but also provides the possibility of recyclability of the exhibition venue. It is an exploration of sustainable exhibition construction.
