Hogoso Studio: Redefining Office Spaces with Geometric Shapes and Natural Vitality

Qinwei Hu, in collaboration with Zian Zhou, has created a groundbreaking office space, Hogoso Studio, located in Chuangxin 128 Park, Yinzhou District, Ningbo City. The design inspiration stemmed from a desire to break away from traditional office atmospheres and infuse the space with geometric shapes and natural elements, resulting in a semi-open outdoor feel.

The studio covers a total of 317 square meters and features subtractive design, prioritizing human senses and experience as the main space. The design team utilized latex paint, epoxy floor paint, and acrylic as the main materials to bring their vision to life.

The project, which commenced in November 2019, was completed in April 2020. The design challenges included transforming a relatively claustrophobic and depressive office space into a bright, clean, and minimalistic environment, while also addressing the issue of storey height, ultimately creating a more open and inviting space for team communication.

The office space is predominantly white, with structured shapes and strategically placed color blocks inspired by Mondrian, adding a touch of vibrancy and rhythm to the environment. The use of different colors of latex paint contrasts with the overall white color, creating a unique and visually striking area.

Qinwei Hu's design concept, centered around simplicity and minimalism, is evident throughout the space, offering a fresh and innovative approach to office design. The studio's design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, celebrating its outstanding creativity and ingenious use of geometric shapes and natural elements to redefine the modern office environment.
