Award-winning designer Heng Hsin Huang's "Leaves Shadow" project, completed in October 2018 in Zhubei City, Taiwan, showcases a unique play of light and shadow, creating a serene ambiance in a minimalist residential space.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
With limited natural lighting on site, the "Leaves Shadow" project by Heng Hsin Huang and Chiang Chia Li focuses on crafting a special visual experience through the orchestration of light and shadow in a minimalist residential design. The interior area spans 168 square meters, featuring 3 bedrooms, a living room, dining room, and 2 bathrooms.
Under the design structure of tone compatibility with the site, integrated with furniture, landscaping, and various forms of plantation, the project utilizes timber veneer timber board, imported metal accessories, metal formwork, curtain, timber louvre window, scratch-resistant flooring, dark-tinted glass, and 10mm reinforced glass to realize the unique play of light and shadow.
The design team overcame challenges in articulating precise lighting effects, carefully calculating lighting fixture locations, height, and angles to nurture a unique display of light and shadow amidst spatial volumes such as furniture, cabinet, and plantation.
