Designing a Cozy and Functional Living Space

Sung-Shu Chan's Mountain Impression is a five-story single-family house, spanning 257.8 square meters, with an interior area of 117.3 square meters. The design team meticulously arranged each area to create a comfortable scale, emphasizing the flow of lines to shape a smooth visual effect. The irregularly curved cabinets meet daily storage needs, while geometrically designed cat trees and aisles provide a pleasant nook for pets. The public and private areas are distinguished by color schemes, with light tones and understated gray in the public areas, creating a relaxing atmosphere, and warm wooden tones in the private areas, offering physical and mental relief.

Curves on the walls and ceilings reduce the sharpness of angles, creating a harmonious, neat visual effect and serving as route guides, linking public and private areas. The design team used German mineral paint, eco-friendly latex paint, wood grain tile flooring, woodwork, trims, system panels, iron parts, and glass to realize the design, paying attention to the lighting and the habits of pets. The design team overcame challenges such as limited interior space and layout interruptions by using lines to outline the layer and curves to eliminate flaws in the ceiling, turning disadvantages into advantages.

Each space in the house is functional and user-friendly, catering to the diverse needs of the family. The design team used curves to connect each area, making the family more intimate, while the common area serves as a place for the family to meet and share their lives. The project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
