Shanghai, China - Nax Architects unveils the innovative transformation of a former steamed dumpling shop into an immersive retail and exhibition pop-up shop for Cosmetea, a groundbreaking tea cosmetics brand.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shanghai, China - Nax Architects has unveiled the transformation of a former steamed dumpling shop into an immersive retail and exhibition pop-up shop for Cosmetea, a pioneering tea cosmetics brand. The project subverted the conventional definition of beauty, integrating tea with cosmetics to create a unique retail experience.
Within a compact 9m2 space, the pop-up shop redefines beauty by innovatively combining tea materials with "Tea Beauty Science" to convey modern fashion aesthetics derived from Oriental naturalism. The space features immersive spatial scenes and experiences, exploring the relationship between nature and the artificial realm, and pointing a path for the brand's creative, sustainable evolution.
The entire tunnel is clad in mirrored stainless steel and highlighted by LED strip lights, creating a "wormhole" across time and space, enabling visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The design team drew inspiration from the brand's logo, carving out a dramatic opening on the facade and extending it to the tunnel space, creating an infinite realm within the limited site area.
Located in Shanghai, China, the project was completed at the end of 2019 and has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2021.
