Residential Design Unveiled: Uncover The Light

YAO-CHENG TSENG introduces "Uncover The Light," a residential design project that harmonizes contrasting preferences for light and dark tones in an apartment for a family of four. The innovative approach to utilizing grilles, lighting, and materials transforms the space, creating a unique visual experience.

The project, completed in February 2023 in Taiwan, features a combination of titanium-plated chiseled panels, marble flooring, grilles, wooden louvers, and iron parts. The design team's meticulous attention to detail and creative use of materials redefine the traditional concept of residential design.

The project's standout feature is the integration of staggered grilles in the ceiling, offering a fresh perspective and enhancing the visual flow of the open-plan social area. The design team's strategic use of adjustable blinds and wooden louvers effectively mitigates the challenges posed by severe Western exposure, while maintaining a balance between light and dark tones.
