Pan Mok's Sunflower Art Education Center in Shanghai, a Silver A' Design Award Winner, Sets New Standards for Art Schools

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sunflower Art Education Center

Pan Mok's Sunflower Art Education Center, a Silver A' Design Award winner, has been unveiled in Shanghai, setting new standards for art schools. The project, which began in August 2020 and was completed in January 2021, aims to provide quality arts education to school students. The center's design draws inspiration from the sunflower, using its colors as the main theme to create an open and imaginative space for students.

The center's unique features include a 6-meter high full-height laminated glass with sunflower colors, offering a visually striking backdrop at the reception area. The design team conducted extensive research on sunflowers and visited a Botanical Garden to understand the flower's unique characteristics, which heavily influenced the design.

One of the main challenges faced during the project was the construction of a mezzanine floor while maintaining the first-floor ceiling height. Specialized air-conditioning ducts were custom-made to minimize the impact on the ceiling height, showcasing the team's commitment to preserving the design's integrity.

The Sunflower Art Education Center offers a comprehensive arts program, including creative drawing, music, dance, theater, and visual arts, aiming to encourage students to express their imagination and creativity. The design's use of sunflower colors and forms creates an environment that fosters artistic expression and learning.
