Marion Park Masterplan: A Vision for Sustainable Urban Living
Rafael Contreras, in collaboration with a team of experts, unveils the Marion Park Masterplan, drawing inspiration from the indigenous landscape of Ngunnawal country. The design reflects the local hillside landscapes and emulates Lake Burley Griffin and the Molonglo River, creating a sustainable urban park.
The master plan envisions a diverse range of housing options, including affordable units, designed with sustainability and liveability in mind. It incorporates innovative Passiv Haus principles and onsite renewable energy generation to pave the way for economically viable pathways to Net Zero operation via Greenpower, ensuring a sustainable future.
The project consists of approximately 456 residential units, offering a variety of housing typologies designed to meet intergenerational requirements. It includes food and beverage outlets, commercial and retail offices, and a community center, fostering a vibrant and inclusive district.
