Yaoming Huang's "The Wu" is a minimalist house design project that aims to create a relaxed and comfortable living space for a family of three. The project started in January 2019 and was completed in August 2020 in DongGuan, China.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yaoming Huang's "The Wu" is a private house design covering an area of 145 sqm. The project integrates minimalist interior design to create a natural and simple space, fostering a closer spatial relation between people and things. The design is inspired by European lines, aiming to bring a relaxing atmosphere to the home while maintaining a touch of European style.
The project team focused on cutting out unnecessary decorations and furniture to present the most natural and simplest space. The design features a comfortable space for both the sitting room and dining room, a reading quarter by the bay window, a master room with a bathroom, a cozy kid's room, and a walk-in closet, catering to the new urban family lifestyle.
Utilizing the original architectural plane, the living room and dining room are connected to create an open and flexible area. The plain gray hue and hidden door panel wall enhance the space, providing a rich hierarchy and a cleaner living environment.
The challenges of the project included highlighting the design in a single layout house, managing the excessive number of door bodies in the living room, and arranging storage methods in the space. The project overcame these challenges by implementing innovative solutions, such as hidden doors and clever storage designs.
Mr. Huang, the designer, founded Gleaning Design in 2012, focusing on design and construction services for residential, commercial, and office spaces. Veryspace Design, established in 2012, upholds the design goal of satisfying customers' needs and creating a calm and harmonious atmosphere.
