Ray Lee's Illusion House, a 500 square meter private residence in Guangzhou, China, is a minimalist and ethereal living space that redefines the boundaries of architectural design, blending nature and modernity to create a unique and captivating environment.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Surrounded by a forest, Illusion House is a concrete and steel structure that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings, allowing sunlight and the shadows of trees to choreograph the space's rhythm. Within the commercial building's outer shell lies a minimalist and ethereal interior space, offering a serene retreat from the outside world.
The design's unique feature is the creation of a "spirit" space, where the interplay of natural light and artificially designed architectural structures and blocks forms a volume sense, enveloping the space in a tranquil ambiance. The boundary between the white and gray ground extends into a scene where the exposed beam structure sequence encircles the entire space, creating a sense of order amidst the fleeting passage of time.
The realization of this minimalist space required careful consideration of material aesthetics to evoke a specific feeling once the design was implemented. The project commenced on December 25, 2021, and was completed on June 1, 2023, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail and creative vision of Ray Lee.
