FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Leo Chen's Esk Space is a 420 square meter office located in Hangzhou, China, designed to create different atmosphere spaces from private to public through deconstruction and interpenetration. The entrance features a transparent floor-to-ceiling glass, offering a wide view of Hangzhou. The space is divided into three areas, with a sunken reception area in the central space that connects with the elevation of the entrance.
The office design is a unique blend of mirror, glass, stainless steel, marble wood finish, and other materials, creating a transition between natural spaces and stimulating exploration and curiosity. The use of large mirror ceilings and a mix of materials reflects the texture of the space, while different lighting techniques are configured between day and night, creating a dynamic atmosphere.
Challenges in space design were overcome through techniques such as interpenetration, dislocation, layering, and mirroring of building blocks, providing functional area possibilities and enhancing spatial mobility and coherence. The project, which started in February 2023, was completed in June 2023 in Hangzhou, Binjiang District, China.
