FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Situated on the top floor of a commercial building in the downtown area, I O Hotel offers a panoramic view of the outdoor landscape and a tranquil environment. In the lobby, the designers retained the original oblique interior roof structure, added a glass ceiling to enhance natural daylighting, and utilized perforated aluminum sheets to soften the light and produce an interplay of light and shadows.
The interior is characterized by a diversified material palette consisting of terrazzo, ultrathin stone materials, timber, and leather coverings, fusing softness and solidness to enrich textures of the space. The hotel spans 2500 square meters and features 36 distinctive guest rooms, each offering diverse experiences akin to numerous rotating objects constituting the Solar System.
Completion time for the project was October 2019, and the location is Zhanjiang, Guangdong, China. The design team skillfully used light and shadows, structures, and colors to inject imagination into spatial scenes, attracting guests to experience and explore the unknown.
