Jing Wei Lin unveils the innovative Jen Teh library design, a multi-functional space aiming to enhance the reading experience and interactivity, located in Taipei, Taiwan, completed in November 2022.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jing Wei Lin's Jen Teh library design is a groundbreaking project that redefines the traditional concept of a library. With four distinct floors, each catering to different functions, the design maximizes the comprehensive effect of library and multimedia audio-visual utilization rate, creating a high-quality and friendly atmosphere for reading.
The first floor features a unique stepped reading area, transforming the reading style and efficiency of use. The second floor houses a self-study discussion area, offering various desk types for self-study and discussions. The third floor is dedicated to a theme classroom, specifically designed for medical functional purposes. Finally, the fourth floor boasts an international conference hall and multimedia audio-visual room, perfect for large-scale speeches and conferences.
The flexible design of diversity activates space and improves utilization rate. Notably, the reading chairs on the first floor can be transformed into activity booths, while the self-study area on the second floor doubles as an art display area. The international conference hall and multimedia audio-visual room on the fourth floor are equipped with multiple functions, enhancing the overall versatility of the space.
Jing Wei Lin's design approach focuses on creating a relaxed and scholarly atmosphere, with warm wood elements at the entrance. Dynamic screens serve as information transmission for the school's advocacy and activity posters, adding a modern and humanistic touch. The use of double-sided open bookcases and sky bookshelves maximizes the display of books, increasing their visibility and absorption. The open stepped reading area and small speech interaction area bring users closer together, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
The project, which commenced in April 2022, was completed in November 2022 in Taiwan. The design reflects extensive research into evolving learning styles and reading habits, addressing the challenges posed by the increasing prevalence of 3C addiction among students. By incorporating the latest 3C audio-visual equipment and creating flexible, multi-functional spaces, Jing Wei Lin's design ensures that the library remains accessible and adaptable to the changing needs of its users.
Jing Wei Lin's Jen Teh library design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, highlighting its outstanding and creatively ingenious approach. This accolade acknowledges the design's contribution to improving the quality of life through its strong technical and creative skills, making it a valuable addition to the global design landscape.
