Dreessen Willemse Architecten Unveils Villa 22, a Stunning Geometric Interplay of Lines and Water
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dreessen Willemse Architecten proudly presents Villa 22, a private house that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings, located in the rural landscape of the green, leafy foreland of the Meuse river in the south of the Netherlands. The villa, with its sleek geometric interplay of lines, forms a symbiosis with the rippling water in the swimming pool, creating a welcoming and homely feel.
The name Villa 22 is inspired by the specific location of the building, which lies on a slope of 22 degrees. The elegant villa looks like an integral part of the hill in which it was designed, offering a unique experience where the outdoors are never far away. The surrounding nature is projected inside through the windows, creating a seamless connection with the environment.
Constructed between 2017 and 2019, Villa 22 boasts approximately 1000 m2 of gross area with a size of 26 x 17 x 11 m (w x d x h). The design and construction were not without challenges, as the team had to seamlessly integrate all elements with the technical limitations of in-place cast concrete, resulting in a stunning and functional architectural masterpiece.
The design team, led by Dreessen Willemse Architecten, worked alongside contractors, concrete specialists, structural engineers, and interior experts to bring the vision of Villa 22 to life. The result is a villa that offers a logical routing structure, with visual moments that seamlessly connect the floors and create a sense of nature indoors.
Dreessen Willemse Architecten is honored to announce that Villa 22 has been awarded the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in 2021. This recognition celebrates the exceptional and highly innovative design that showcases unmatched professionalism and contributes to societal well-being, advancing the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
