Office Space Design "Structural Beauty" by Zhongliang Xiang

Zhongliang Xiang's "Structural Beauty" is an office space designed to embody the interaction between humans and the world, expressing the essence of human with space. The minimalist and Wabi-sabi themes create a cool, rational, and introverted atmosphere, reminiscent of Yamamoto's clothing design.

This unique space emphasizes the influence of the structure itself on people, pursuing relaxed and natural comfort in a calm and restrained environment. The use of materials such as terrazzo, panDOMO, gypsum board, and wood contributes to the minimalist concept, creating a space that is both modern and timeless.

The project, which started in October 2018 and finished in January 2019 in Shanghai, was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award for Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2020, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design.

In "Structural Beauty," the elevation of the ground in the north is raised to enhance the interaction with the outside world, while the addition of a platform creates visual coherence and a pleasant experience for occupants. The wooden floor, marked with the traces of time, adds a sense of history to the space, and the pinnacle design reduces the sense of hollowness, making the space smarter and warmer.

The design team, led by Zhongliang Xiang and Yang Chen, skillfully mastered natural light to infuse the interior space with vitality, creating a Wabisabi dream that is both quiet and bright. The space exudes an atmosphere that vividly captures the essence of human interaction with the world.

Zhongliang Xiang, the design director of Narration Space, has over 15 years of experience in interior design, leading numerous large-scale and high-complexity projects. His design philosophy revolves around the interaction between humans and the world, expressing the essence of human with space.
