Pei-Chen Hsieh's Mansion of Yu, completed in November 2020 in Taipei City, Taiwan, is a modern residential design that balances elegance and comfort through harmonious material choices and meticulous planning.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pei-Chen Hsieh's Mansion of Yu stands out as a modern residential design that skillfully blends different materials and designer goods to establish an elegant and comfortable living space. The use of classic illuminations and carpets from renowned designers such as Philippe Starck, Holly Hunt, and Andre Fu creates an elegant atmosphere, while the clever planning of flow lines imparts a sense of transparency to the public domain without using partitions.
The public domain features dark color slabs that seamlessly connect the living and dining areas, creating an elegant visual perception. In contrast, the private domain conveys a gentle and modest atmosphere through the use of smoked white oaks and walnuts in dark colors for the wooden floor and cabinets.
The project was not without its challenges, as the exterior structure of the building posed difficulties for incorporating certain design elements. However, through meticulous planning and collaboration with the client, Pei-Chen Hsieh successfully overcame these challenges to create a space that reflects the client's preferences and aspirations.
